Motivation

Assisted by the i3mainz, the professional painting company maler Siedler plans to digitalize and automate the previously manual processes of sanding and spraying interior walls and ceilings. The aim of the collaborative project is the research and prototype development of a modular construction robot.

The project is funded by ZIM, the Central Innovation Program for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which is a funding program of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK, previously BMWi). ZIM aims to foster the innovative capacity and competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Research organizations and SMEs can apply for grants for ambitious research and development projects that lead to market-oriented technological innovations
